Retail distribution centers, warehouses and fleet terminals all have the same issues with idling trucks that the truck stops and travel plazas have, but with one major difference: the company is at financial risk and not the driver. The structure of this industry requires a continuous throughput of long-haul and short-haul truck drivers who now must shut their engines off while loading and unloading. However, the truck drivers are only there for a couple hours or more, and most of them remain in their cabs idling their engines during that time. The E-Dock Stationary is for locations with fixed parking, and the E-Dock Portable is for areas with a more fluid parking situation. With the E-Dock Portable, the distribution center or warehouse has the ability to wheel the unit out as needed and wheel it back inside when not in use.
